Stuart Newbold, Patent Search & Information Management’s head, brings a proven track record, with over 30 years experience in the patent information, chemical and life science industries. Stuart was Head of Information at Astex Pharmaceuticals from 2003-2013, forming a team with patent attorneys and working alongside scientists and business managers, providing high value-add reports and other assistance towards meeting the organisation’s business goals. His experience includes roles with STN at the RSC and as an online searcher and indexer at Derwent Information.
Stuart has expertise in searching numerous commercial online systems with a high level of experience of information retrieval, reporting and analysis across the areas of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemistry and polymers. Stuart is recognised in the industry as an expert in chemical structure/Marpat searching, Stuart is an internationally-qualified Patent Information Professional (QPIP) and also a CIPA-qualified formalities officer.
